General Assembly + Acquaintance Party

Last Wednesday, July 10, 2013, our department had its annual General Assembly but this time the organization officers decided to push through the much awaited Acquaintance Party every year.

By the way guys, just for an added tidbit, I was elected as the Asst. Secretary of our department organization of which, I have no intentions at first because I'm not into school politics but now, I'm getting okay with it.

General Assembly

The day started with the General Assembly first. It was like a welcome ceremony to the freshmen ND's of this batch. I was assigned to talk about the Mission of our department, and I was too formal, my friends said, because the person who explained the Vision was too jolly of which, I can't be in a massive crowd. Oh well. I'm pretty reserved.

We were introduced as officers too. It was quite overwhelming; be presented like that in front of the whole ND community with the big responsibilities being handed down to you. It's quite nice to think though, that I actually won without even having that traditional campaigns - I guess when people elect you, they have given you a bit of their trust that you could do better, make a change and that they believe you could actually do it.

We took our oaths and pledges too, and had our first ever complete formal photo.

Kudos PAN-AEC Officers, Batch 2013!

ACQUAINTANCE PARTY + BEBOT-BATIBOT

Later that day, in the afternoon happened the Acquaintance Party with the Bebot-batibot Pageant, where in a girl would be a boy and a boy would be a girl. That is really the highlight of this event.

Our candidates! Haha. It was actually kinda' weird seeing those two "cuties" in the middle act as a girl especially because I am close to them. They actually pulled it off and they made "kabog" us girls.

Meet me and my best bud with Coleen. Isn't she lovely? <3

By the way the theme of this party is Masquerade and supposedly we need to dress up in semi-formal but instead, the officers have decided not to because not everyone is comfortable in dressing up that way.

These are my girlfriends. I love this photo. Look at those poses and gestures. It's so natural and it describes best each of our different personalities. Haha! Amazing.

With my bestie. Huehue. Photo sesh before the event! As usual. Vain girls for life.

The pageant proper. Wow. Roaring thunders for these gorgeous ladies and gentleladies. Kidding. The most fun part is the "kasabihan" part, where in... you know. Others have double meanings in it which, me and my girlfriends like. Hahaha!

Selfies, eh?

The food. It was also a cocktail party so there's nothing heavy in the menu. It was a perfect combo though, I could say. Just light for everyone because we were constantly moving into places. Too bad I didn't have the chance to take a photo of the Ice Cream Cookie I constantly munched on every time I see the usher carrying it. It was one of the best that night. And of course the company I had, the fun.
It rained that night though, but we're still thankful to have executed this event as neat and clean as possible. It may not be that extravagant, party of the year and to think this is our organization's first event, not bad though. I'm pretty sure people had fun as much as we did.

Well this post is pretty long. I'm sorry. I just want to say something about this though. Usually when the department orgs. organize parties like this, I don't go but this time, I'm glad I did.
