In line with the celebration of Nutrition Month, Nestle decided to conduct its Choose Wellness Expo which started awhile ago at SM Megamall, Megatrade Halls, 1-3. As a Nutrition and Dietetics student, I think it would be good if we participate in this kind of events for we will, for sure, can relate everything we have learned in the institution outside the campus.

I went with my friends and we arrived there at 11 am, and the queue at the entrance was piling up! Thankfully I registered online, so I didn't have to wait that long. We were entertained inside, asked for the pre-registration codes and gave us our bracelet passes.

However, there is a certain "rule" on how to get the expo souvenir umbrella. We have to first, go and have our nutritional status be assessed, and second, visit three booths of our choice.

This is the Assessment Section, where in your height, weight, body mass index and total body fat will be checked for the consultation. Those variables would help you find out if you are normal or malnourished (underweight, overweight or obese).

My assessment sheet. My height is really 5'5, but since the height chart was moving like a bamboo being blown by the wind, I haven't had the chance to stand properly. It's okay though, because I'm 2 kilos short for my DBW if ever.

The Consultation Area. RND's everywhere! I was like "wow"! Damn so cool. I sort of imagined myself in their shoes 2 years from now. The RND assigned to me was a PUPian graduate though, which is quite amazing! As usual I am nutritionally "normal", for my age and height. She said I should maintain, but she didn't explain further more because she knows I know all those things she'll say.

Our first booth is Nescafe, and they gave out free coffee drinks for everyone. Perfect for caffeine lovers out there. They also have their "sing-along" game, wherein you'll sing Nescafe's chant and you'll have the chance to take home a box of Nescafe products. We didn't, however joined the game because we want to maximize our time in seeing other booths.

Our next booth was the Nestle Ice Cream booth. They gave out free Ice Cream samples, the drumsticks and the temptations! Definitely satisfied my sweet tooth.

We registered to be a member of Nestle too, and we got ourselves free calculators! A big help for us especially now that we are too preoccupied with the calculations of nutrients and food plans.
Our last booth is the Nido Booth, where in you'll play a "pindutan" game to win their Nido glasses, and we joined the Wellness Quiz Bee that made my brain cells crack because, the question assigned to us was hella' confusing while the others only needed to state True or False. But we still won.
Other booths included are:

The Milo Booth, giving out free milos for everyone.

The Nestea Booth however, was conducting a mini aerobics and of course free drinks.

The Choose Wellness Booth and its dance craze!

My tag. Ate and went home happy with lots of freebies! What a fun-filled day. So worth it. :) I hope there's another expo again next year! Looking forward to a better promotion of nutrition!

My souvenirs! Got Nido's glasses and a shirt from the quizbee. I also had an umbrella and the calculator too bad I didn't have the chance to take a photo.
Above all, the most rewarding part in this experience is that we see families in the expo, Mothers with their kids and Fathers too, are actually doing their part in improving their lifestyle. I hope that years from now, malnutrition would lessen in our country.
